Shipping information

Is there any shipping charges for orders from the Online Shop?

We ship globally.

Europe: 10 Euro
Non EU Countries 19 Euro

Delivery

We ship worldwide for most of our brands.

If your order is received before 15:00 CET Working days, we aim to dispatch on the same day.

If your item showed ‘pre-order’, then please expect an additional 6-10 days to dispatch date.

What is the estimated delivery time?

Europe 1-3 working days
US 2-4 working days
Everywhere else 2-5 working days.

Do you ship to Japan?

Shipping to Japan is available for all our brands, with the exception of Masunaga, Kenzo Takada, and Masunaga K3.

Returning your glasses

How do I return my glasses?

If you regret your purchase, you can return the frame to our address within 14 days from the date of purchase.
Returns are not accepted after this period.
We will issue a refund after a careful inspection of the sunglasses.

The item must be in the same mint condition as when you received it—free of scratches, with the security label intact on the bridge or temple, and all accessories, labels, and stickers in their original positions.

Once the return has been approved, an email will be sent by the courier with the digital label ready to print. Attach the label to the parcel and drop it off at your local courier's drop-off point.

Please note that the Return & Exchange shipping cost will be deducted from your refund:

International Orders (Outside the EU)

For customers outside the European Union, all import duties and taxes are now included. You won’t have to pay any additional fees upon delivery.

In the case of refused or unclaimed deliveries, any shipping, return, and customs handling fees incurred will be deducted from the refund. We encourage our international clients to review local import rules before placing an order. If you’re unsure, our team is always happy to assist.

Restocking fee Policy

Because each item is carefully inspected and repackaged upon return, a restocking fee of 10% may apply if at least 3 items are returned to us. This helps cover the cost of quality control and handling.
Once we receive the returned item, we will process it as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 5 working days for completion, depending on your bank or card provider.

Can I still change my order?

Yes, if the size of the sunglasses is either too small or too large, you can exchange them for the same frame in a different size or color.

Exchanges are only available within 14 days from the date of purchase.

How can I track my order?

As soon as your order is shipped we will send you a track & trace code by mail. This way you can track your order.

Can I place an order with more than 3 frames?

Of course, you can. Please note that if you decide to return all items, we reserve the right to charge a 10% restocking fee upon issuing the refund.

For personalized shopping advice, such as size and fit, feel free to reach out to our customer service team.

What should I do if I receive a damaged or wrong product?

We always pack your eyewear in a durable cardboard box, carefully wrapping the glasses or sunglasses box in tissue paper before sealing it in an envelope.

If your package arrives damaged, please take pictures of the box and frame immediately and email them to our team, along with your full name, email, and order number.

I have changed my mind about the wrong color / size

No problem! If the size of the sunglasses is too small or too large, you can exchange them for the same frame in a different size or color.

Are there custom duties for deliveries outside EU?

For customers outside the European Union, all import duties and taxes are now covered by us. You will not be charged any additional fees upon delivery.

Warranty, Authenticity & Legality

Who is Sun of Japan?

Sun of Japan is an established company based in Denmark, dedicated to quality and authentic Japanese craftsmanship.

Do the glasses come with warranty?

Yes, all our sunglasses come with a 2-year warranty.

The warranty covers manufacturing and technical defects but does not include damage caused by stretching, physical mishandling or changes to the frame's shape or size.

The 2-year warranty is valid from the date of purchase.

To process a warranty claim, kindly provide us with an email confirmation of your purchase, including the date, order number, and details about the frame.

Is the guaranty card included?

Yes, in most cases, each official distributor provides branded materials such as a case, lens sticker, or authentication card, which we will include with your order.

Certification of authenticity

We certify the authenticity of Sun of Japan brands, with each frame handcrafted to the highest quality standards by skilled artisans in Japan. These precision-made frames are guaranteed against defects in materials and craftsmanship.

The Sun of Japan guarantee does not cover damage caused by stretching or altering the frame's shape or size.

Discounts & Campaigns

What is The Vault?

The Vault is a special campaign collection of Japanese sunglasses offered at exclusive prices. Items are available while stock lasts and are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I reserve items in The Vault?

No, products are only secured once payment has been successfully completed.

How is the discount applied?

A 40% discount is automatically applied at checkout on eligible Vault items — no code is required.

Can I combine The Vault discount with other offers?

The 40% discount cannot be combined with any other promotion, voucher, campaign, or discount, including the €50 discount.

Can I return items from The Vault?

Yes, the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies under EU consumer law. Items must be unused, unworn, and in their original condition, including packaging, cases, certificates, and accessories.
Any signs of use beyond what is necessary to inspect the product may result in a deduction. Return shipping costs are borne by the customer unless otherwise required by law.

What happens if there is an error with my order?

Sun of Japan reserves the right to correct pricing errors, withdraw items, or cancel orders in the event of technical inaccuracies or stock discrepancies.

Can I use the €50 discount on any order?

The €50 discount is valid only on orders with a minimum purchase of €300. The discount will be applied at checkout once the order value reaches €300 or more. Please note that the offer may exclude certain products or collections and cannot be combined with other promotions.

Prescription & Custom Sun Lenses

Can I order prescription lenses or sun lenses for my frame?

Yes. You can add prescription or custom sun lenses to your selected frame. Each pair is crafted to your specifications in collaboration with premium manufacturers such as ZEISS Vision Care and Hoya.

Can I return custom lenses if I change my mind?

No. Custom prescription and sun lenses are made-to-order and are considered bespoke products. They cannot be returned or exchanged once production has begun, except in the rare case of a confirmed manufacturing defect.

What information do I need to provide?

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate prescription, including PD (pupillary distance) if required. Sun of Japan is not responsible for errors arising from incorrect or outdated information. We may request prescription verification before production.

How long does production take?

Production times vary depending on the type of lens, coatings, and prescription complexity. Estimated delivery times are indicative and not guaranteed.

Are there any tolerances or variations I should expect?

All lenses are produced according to European optical standards and accepted industry tolerances. Minor deviations within these standards do not constitute a defect.

Will my lenses fit my selected frame?

Certain prescriptions or lens types may not be compatible with all frames. If a technical limitation arises, we will contact you to adjust specifications or, if necessary, cancel and refund the lens portion of your order prior to production.

How do you protect against fraud?

Due to the bespoke nature and high value of prescription lenses, orders may be subject to verification. We reserve the right to request identification or prescription confirmation, and to cancel orders in cases of suspected fraud or irregular payment activity.

Do I need to acknowledge anything at checkout?

Yes. To confirm your order, you must acknowledge that your prescription details are accurate and that custom lenses are non-returnable once production begins. This ensures a smooth and secure process for both you and Sun of Japan.
